Fuji-Q Highland
Location: Yamanashi, Japan
Open Dates: 2014.07.18
Fuji-Q Highland introduced Japan’s first flying theater, the Fuji Airways in 2014. Offering an unparalleled and immersive flying experience over the majestic Mt. Fuji. This cutting-edge attraction immerses guests in stunning visuals projected on a massive dome screen, simulating a flight across the iconic landscape of Japan's most famous mountain.
The attraction was further enhanced in July 2016 with an extensive update that introduced new 6K-resolution footage. Captured using advanced equipment such as electric paragliders and drones, these visuals heightened the sense of realism, showcasing the stunning beauty of Mt. Fuji across different seasons and weather conditions. This allows visitors to experience the grandeur of Mt. Fuji even when the real mountain is obscured by weather.
Fuji Airways delivers a truly multi-sensory experience that engages all five senses. Synchronized seat movements, combined with immersive visuals, simulate the wind sweeping across the foothills, the cool spray from lakes, and the fragrant scents of forests and flowers. Iconic views featured in the simulation include popular landmarks such as the Chureito Pagoda at Arakurayama Sengen Park during the cherry blossom festival, the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, and more. Enhancing the magic of the ride is the original score “Mt. Fuji,” composed by the renowned Japanese musician Joe Hisaishi. This sweeping orchestral piece adds an emotional depth to the experience, making each flight over Mt. Fuji unforgettable.
Fuji Airways exemplifies the seamless fusion of Brogent’s state-of-the-art flying theater technology with the timeless beauty of Mt. Fuji, creating an adventure that visitors will treasure forever.
