Brogent Technologies is cooperating with local partners to bring the first installation of hexaRide VR experience to Tokyo. The attraction opened on November 2nd, 2018 on the fifth floor of Diver City Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo.
Brogent Group CEO C.H. Ouyang expressed his excitement about the first investment of Brogent in operating the hexaRide in Japan. The attraction is a joined effort of the Brogent Technologies team, who delivered the hardware, and Japanese subsidiary Brogent Japan Entertainment (BJE) who partnered with Kodansha, Dentsu and Movic to form a powerful alliance for content production and operation. Odaiba has been purposely chosen as the debut location for this first experience of its kind worldwide
BJE representative and Kodansha board member Mr Kohei Furukawa talked about the hexaRide project to members of the press during the ride opening. During his first visit at Brogent four years ago he had been impressed by the expertise in system integration and he saw the opportunity to add value by creating ride media content based on popular Kodansha IP.
hexaRide has a capacity of 12 riders, that all wear individual VR headsets and while sitting on the Brogent developed motion base enter a virtual world. Popular Japanese animation franchises like “Ghost in the Shell” and “Attack on Titan” make the hexaRide experience complete. “Ghost in the Shell” content was produced by Venice Golden Lion winning director Hiroaki Higashi and the team from Japanese production house Production I.G.
The compact and easy to operate hexaRide experience fits a small footprint. Paired with popular IP content it is a great concept for the LBE market, especially retailtainment and integrated resorts.
